NAHARLAGUN, FEB 2 : The Open State Level Arm Wrestling Championship-2024 cum selection for the National Arm Wrestling Championship was organize by the All Arunachal Pradesh Arm Wrestling Association (AAPAWA) w.e.f 30th to 31st January in a city hotel.
The inaugural ceremony was inaugurated and graced by Basar MLA Gokar Basar and Arunachal Olympic association (AOA) Vice President Toko Teki as the Chief Guest and Guest of honour respectively,
Both chief guest MLA Basar and guest of honour Toko Teki highlighted various experiences to reached to the dignified position and bring laurel for state and country. Both leaders motivated the players to work hard and become a role model for others who can also adopt various games and sports discipline as a career and avail several benefits and provisos of government as well.
The Championship was participated by 263 participants from all over the State in which the Team West Siang district (187 Pts) bagged the 1st position while 2nd & 3rd positions were bagged by the teams Lepa Rada district (175 Pts) and East Siang (158 Pts). Moli Ngomdir 90 KG (West Siang) and Mousami Pakam 80 KG (West Siang) bagged the titles of Champion of Champions (CoCs) in Men and Women Categories respectively.
The President AAPAWA Pakjar Taipodia extends gratitude for extending cooperation and witnessing the programme which inspire the youths and players. She emphasis the players to carry hard work to become a good players and teach the youger generation who can also become player and bring laural for their family, society, state and country.
International body builder Paklu Taipodia, AAPSU former Spokesperson Tanya Agu, Sports & Youth Affairs DSO Nada Apa, Sports Authority of Arunachal (SAA) Administrative Officer Tali Liruk was the officers, officials of various department and others witnessed the occasion.
