In a highly successful joint operation, the Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the State Police, apprehended a prominent Over Ground Worker (OGW) affiliated with the banned militant outfit National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Isak-Muivah) [NSCN (IM)]. The operation was carried out in the general area of B N Colony, Changlang, Arunachal Pradesh, leading to a significant breakthrough in the fight against insurgency.
The security forces acted swiftly and with precision, locating and arresting the NSCN (IM) operative on the specified date. Along with the apprehension, the authorities also seized a mobile phone, which is expected to be crucial evidence in ongoing investigations into the group’s activities and network in the region.
Following the successful operation, the arrested OGW, whose identity remains undisclosed, was handed over to the Changlang Police Station for further interrogation and legal proceedings. The police are actively pursuing leads and gathering intelligence to dismantle the militant group’s presence and prevent any further threats to peace and stability in the region.
