CEO of Arunachal Pradesh directs district SPs to crack down on election violations, show cause notices served to MP and MLA candidates, seizures totaling Rs. 16 crore

ITANAGAR, APRIL 15 ; The Chief electoral officer (CEO) Arunachal Pradesh Pawan Kumar Sain on Monday has directed all the SPs of districts to strictly enforced the violation of Model Code of conduct (MCC) and take strict action against the violators as per law.

Addressing the media, the CEO inform that reports of violation of model code of conduct has been reported from various part of state and as per law several cases has also been registered. Show cause notices has been served to a sitting MP from Arunachal East parliamentary constituency and MLA candidates and reply has also received from some candidates and which are under examination. Show cause notices has also been issued to senior officers under CCS Conduct rule and reply has been received and are under scrutiny of CEO. He said.

With regards to violation at Namsai the district administration has conducted consultative meeting with the leaders of all political party and resolved to maintain peace. The NIrvachan bhawan has asked action take report from Namsai DEO. Several person has been bound down in Namsai. All SST/FST Has been asked to  work to maintain peace apart of their normal duty of election purposes. Prohibitory order u/s-144 CrPc is also there. He said.

34 incidents related to election has been reported, pol campaign related, political revelry and communal violence etc has been reported out of which 33 cases has been registered in various police station of state, 10 cases has been reported of damage of public property worth Rs. 10 lakhs, 10 person has been injured. one person has lost his life in these incident of violence in under Rupa police station of 6th Thrizino-Buragaon assembly constituency of West Kameng district. He said.

170 numbers has been identified as vulnerable and person identified as probable sources of trouble and accordingly preventive actions has been taken against 176 person. Said CEO.

25 inter-state nakas has been made operational and functioning to check any illegal activities including the violation of MCC, as of now 25 inter-state is operational, 81 intra-state with 176 FST team with 179 SST team and 37 teams of quick response team (QRT) is functional with sufficed manpower. He said.

To prevent law and order problem and to maintain peace, communal harmony during the election 245 persons has been bound down u/s- 107, 108, 110 r/w 151 of CrPc, 1973. 1829 persons has been bound down u/s-107, 108, 109, 110 r/w 116(3) of CrPc. 1973. He said.

Out of total 32424 license arm 31130 arm has been deposited and we are trying to ensure deposition of 100%. 839 arm license/arm has been impounded so far, 372 arm license has been cancelled either deposited 55 nos has been exempted as per provisions. 

To maintain law and order extra police and para military forces has been arrived, 55 company was already arrived and 10 company has arrived today and they will be deployed to maintain smooth conduct of election process. From where violence’s in night hours has been reported prohibitory order u/s-144 CrPc has been prorogated and direction has been issued to prohibitory of assembly of four or more people at a place. He said.

To maintain peace and tranquility prohibitory order has been issued in various district u/s 144 CrPc and it will remain enforced till completion of voting process and ordered by respective district administration.  He said.

As per seizures being conducted by police at check naksas, check gates and by SST/FST and seizure in Cash and kind including valuable items, liquors, drugs, narcotic, freebies with monitory value has rise to almost 16 Crore. He said.

The main and materials for four polling stations under Tali assembly constituency has been dispatch and from there they will go to Tadu(469), Pipsorang (401), Karsang (356) and Korapu (276) has been airlifted to Tali and rest will be dispatch from 17. The poling materials and manpower was airlifted by two sorties today. He said.

With regard to rumor spreading across social media that the inter-state, intra-state road and vehicular movement will be close down, the CEO has clarified that no such order has been passed from NIrvachan Bhawan, all the borders of district are open and there shall be no any restriction on movement of voters to their respective polling station and they can cast their valuable vote without any fear or favour. Direction has also been issued to all the SPs of district to abide it and no restriction on movement of voters in reaching the polling stations. CEO added.

Area domination is being done by district administration and police force to create awareness among the general public on the election proves and hope everyone take part in the festival of democracy without any fear and the whole election process passed off peacefully. He further said.
