Proposal for inclusion of Tirap in tourist circuit will be taken up after receiving clearance from MHA

ITANAGAR, March 16 : The proposal of inclusion of Tirap district in the tourist circuit of Arunachal Pradesh will be considered after the receipt of the approval of clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Informed the Minister for Tourism, Transport and Civil Aviation Nakap Nalo during the question hours in the legislative assembly.

Tourism Minister Nakap Nalo said that the department of tourism has taken several steps in the matter and is actively pursuing it. He said.

The department has forwarded a proposal dated June 21 2021 as recommended by DC Khonsa for tourist circuit Viz- Dibrugarh-Tinsukia-Hukanjuri-Khonsa-Longding vide letter dated July 2018.  A reminder was also sent  on 22^nd July 2021. He said.

The department of Home affairs vide letter dated 21/12/2021 has recommended the department to consider an alternative circuit Viz- Tinsukia-Dibrugarh-Kanubari-Longding instead of Dibrugarh-Tinsukia-Hukanjuri-Khonsa-Kongding. The department further again has requested the department of Home on 25^th January 2022 to reconsider the original and earlier proposal. He said.

A meeting was also convened on March 8 2022 to discuss the pendency of the proposal and the home department has stated that it is under submission for the government approval. He informed. 

In response to the correspondence by the tourism department vide letter 25/06/2022 the home department, Arunachal Pradesh has sent a proposal to the ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India on dated 11^th March 2022 for creation of new tourist routes in Arunachal Pradesh viz-Dibrugarh-Tinsukia-Deomali-Hukanjuri-Khonsa-Longding. Minister Nalo further said. 

The MLA Borduria-Bogapani Wanglin Lowangdong wanted an assurance from the minister in the regard as the proposal has been lying pending for years together, the Minister further assured that it is a mandatory that any tourist circuit would only be considered after the clearance of the Ministry of Home Affairs in this consideration case also if the proposal is approved the state govt will take up for inclusion of the tourist circuit map.
