Seppa MLA Tapuk Taku sought early completion of collapse bridge on TAH near Toru

ITANAGAR, March 15 ; The Seppa MLA Tapuk Taku on Tuesday during the question hours during the 3th day of budget session has sought early completion of the bridge which collapse on Tarns Arunachal Highway (TAH) near Toru in Sagalee assembly constituency of Papum Pare district.

Taking part in the question hours, Taku said that the said Trans Arunachal Highway is one of the important roads connecting several districts of state which include Tawang, West Kameng, East Kameng and Pakke kessang and play a major role in all activities. The steel bridge near Toru which collapsed a few months back and no one is taking care and a new bridge needed immediately for the convenience of the commuters. We are in touch with the agency but they are not carrying out the work as per assurance. He said.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu who is in incharge of the PWD said that two bridges on the stretch one at Seppa and another near Toru are equally important and stated to be completed by June 2022.

Chief Minister Khandu said that the Seda Natung bridge at Ch-109+148 has already been completed. The bridge was closed due to repairing and maintenance of bridge bearing for diverting vehicular traffic. The necessary maintenance work has been completed and the regular traffic shall be allowed to ply within a week. With regards to the bridge at Toru, the foundation (KVK) at ch-241+095 has been completed. The fabrication of the bridge superstructure (100 mtrs span) is in progress and the work is targeted for completion by June 2022. CM said adding that a 2 lane road diversion at the bridge location has been constructed for smooth traffic movement.

It is to mention that the said bridge constructed over Shu river between Mepsoro-Geram in Toru circle of Sagalee assembly constituency on National highway-13 of TAH and the bridge will collapse in September 2021.
