ITANAGAR, Apr 17 : The team of Kurung Kumey emerged the winner in men’s while Papum Pare in women’s category of NES volleyball championship-2023.other traditional games and other activities will be played on Tuesday.
The Kurung Kumey mens team has defeated the team of Kamle in men’s volleyball championship by 3/2 while women’s team of Papum Pare defeated the Kurung Kumey by three sets.
Informing the media, the Nyishi Elite Society (NES) President Prof Tana Shoren said that the Nyishi day celebration is a historic for all the Nyishi people living across the globe. We celebrate the day with lots of programme and all preparation is nearing completion
This year the Nyishi day celebration in all the Nyishi dominated district and at Charduwar in Assam with lots of fanfare to remember the day and to pledge to work for all round development of state and country. He said.
This year NES Life time achievement award will be conferred to Dr. Bengia Tolum and other activities including cultural programme and work of advice from the Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein who is our chief guest on the occasion. Posthumous Award will be handed over to legal heirs of the Unsung Heroes of Arunachal Pradesh as conferred by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh on February 21, 2023, as per the programme . It is a happy moment that 1st time the games and sports has been introduced in the celebration to motivate and encourage the youths to maintain a good health and spirit for a healthy body and sound mind and at the same time they can associated with various games and sport they like can play in future in other competition to be held in their respective places. He said.
Traditional games and sports of Tug of war, Archery and Dapo (Pole Wrestling) will be held on 17 April 2023 from 10 am onwards and the prizes of the gaems and sports and other activities will be given away on the celebration day on April 19. He said.
He further appeal the leaders of Nyishi community, elite, youths and well wishers and likeminded people to attend and witness the celebration and part of the happy moment. Added Prof Showren.
