DONER minister assures for setting up of six category-II science centres in state

NEW DELHI, JULY 29 ; The Union Minister for DONER, Culture and Tourism G. Kishan Reddy has assured the delegation from Arunachal Pradesh led by MP Tapir Gao and Nabam Rebia to look into the proposal for setting up of six (6) category-II science centre (s) in various parts of Arunachal Pradesh.

A delegation from Arunachal Pradesh led by Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Tapir Gao, Rajya Sabha member Nabam Rebia and Bamang Mangha, Chairman, Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology called on Union Minister for DONER, Culture and Tourism G. Kishan Reddy at his office in Shastri Bhawan on Thursday, New Delhi. The delegation submitted a proposal for setting up six (6) science centres (category-II) in various parts of Arunachal Pradesh. The proposal was submitted under the scheme for “Promotion of Culture of Science” (SPOCS), which is being implemented by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India through the National Council for Science Museums (NCSM), Kolkata.

The delegation also called on the Union Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy Raj Kumar Singh at his office in Shram Shakti Bhawan, New Delhi on Thursday, and submitted a representation for sanctioning of twelve (12) Micro Hydel projects. The union minister has conveyed the delegation to look into the matter.

C.D. Mungyak, Director-cum-Member Secretary, APSCS&T and Dr. Debajit Mahanta, Project Director, DBT- APSCS&T Centre of Excellence for Bioresources and Sustainable Development accompanied the delegation.
