AAPSU Call off statewide bandh on March 14, 2 point charter of demand fulfilled: Says AAPSU

ITANAGAR, MARCH 12 : The statewide bandh on March 14 call given by the All Arunachal Pradesh students union (AAPSU) has been called off. The decision was announced by AAPSU General secretary Ritum Tali to media after discussion with the state government at AP Civil sect and at NEFA Club building gloater on.

General secretary Ritum Tali said that we have placed two point charter of demand before the state government which has been fulfilled. Null and void issue was not included in the bandh call issue. He said.

Referring to the vandalism of the NEFA club building ,the AAPSU GS said that the capital police has already detained four person and investigation and rounded up 10 persons. He said with regards to the clarification  sought by the Home Minister for not handling the case of last bandh call seriously, he said that the Home and Border affairs Minister Bamang Felix has already clarified in media and so we are called off the bandh. He said.

We need to have trust in the investigation being carried out by the premier investigating agency the CBI and if we do not trust the CBI but whom to trust. He said.

After declaring the bandh call on March 5 we have sought support from every one so it was necessary that we should informed everyone and the bandh call if called off. We have not mislead public. He added.

After the declaration of bandh call on March 5 the team AAPSU was called for a discussion on March 7 so today we have through meeting with the government at AP Civil secretariat. After the discussion we have another meeting with our leaders and further called off the bandh.  

Meanwhile, the Home & Border Affairs Minister and government spokesperson Bamang Felix in a press conference held at PHQ has accepted that there was a communication gap and it was only due to non release of the minutes of meeting which led to lad and odder problems recently. It was not mishandled but carefully observed the investigation and it was conveyed on January 10 to all the organization which include PAC Arunachal steering committee, AAPSU and ANSU through power point presentation. He said.

A decision was taken for swearing in of full commission and also to sit for a meeting after the swearing in ceremony but a minute of the meeting which not come up in timely which has created a communication gap among the teams.   

The clarification which was one of the charter of demand of the premier student’s organization. We have a meeting today at AP Civil Secretariat and both the points which include the clarification which was given to them and the detail of the case of vandelisation of AAPSU office was informed to them and hope the issued has been relieved. He appeal the student organisation to called off the bandh on March 14 in the greater interest of the general public.  We have to move for a better solution and fight together for a permanent solution. Said Home Minister.

Capital SP Jimmy Chiram who was present during the press conference has informed that all total 10 cases has been registered related to the recent law and order problem and violable related activities across the capital complex. 

Capital SP said that one case of vandelisation was registered on Feb 21 wide case no-45/23 u/s-456, 427, 34 and a special investigation team (SIT) was constituted. During the investigation several CCTV footages were recovered and four person were detained in the case.

With regard to law and order and damaged to government and private property during the bandh call on Feb 17 and 18, the Capital SP said that more than 10 cases has been registered and investigation are going on in all the cases. 

On death case of Late Tumi Gangkak, SP capital said that SIT has already been constituted and investigation is doing it job and we are trying in detail and will inform. Added SP Capital Chiram.
