ITANAGAR, NOV 10 : The Sports & Youths Affairs and WRD and forest Minister Mama Natung alongwith Education and cultural affairs Minister Taba Tedir, Arunachal Olympic association general secretary Bamang Tago, Secretary Sports & Youth affairs Abu Tayeng, Director Tadar Apa has felicitated the medal winners of the 37th national games which were held at Goa recently.
The Arunachal Pradesh state contingent of 60 which include 34 athletes, players who were flagged off fro te same venue on October 22nd for national games which was held at Goa form October 26th to Nov 9.
A total of 34 athletes/players among 21 female and 13 are male. The players take part in seven sports discipline which include athletes, boxing, judo, Taekwondo, Pencak Silat, weight lifting, Wushu,
Addressing the function, the Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Mama Natung said that it is a happy occasion and we have been haply felicitating the winners who have made us proud. Earlier in last national game our players beg 7 medals and this year it is 13 and it is expected that if the trend and motivation of our players continue our state may win double medal and it may goes upto 26 medals in next national gamed which is expected to be held in Uttrakhand. He said.
It is also happy moment for the people of state that the contingent has increased from 17 to 34 and show that the our boys and girls have lots of enthusiast in games and sports. The medal tally which has increased double and its reflect the energy level and moral of our players. Said Natung.
The training and practice of our players will naturally increase and it will help them to play the games in most professional way and win the race and bring medal tally and laurel for our state. We are expecting a good result from them and also this time form them as our contingent are more in compare to last national which held at Gujrat and Goa. Said Natung.

Team of officer form department, technical officers, officers from AOA Dy SP Bulang Marik will be chef de mission, Sports Asstinat Director Nada Apa and Tagru Magong was Deputy Chef de mission. total 9 people from Sports department and 2 supporting staffs will accompany has went with the players and athletes and I congratulate each and everyone those who help the players to win medals and made us proud and happy. I have a wish that that if the trend continue and the moral of the players and athletic practice and training continue our state is at present at 21 in national medal tally and 3rd in NE region and it is expected that the national medal tally may come within top five. He further said.
