NAHARLAGUN, NOV 30 : The main water supply pipelines measuring 300 mm dia for Naharlagun and Nirjuli township has been breached and a blast takes place near helipad due to which the supply to Naharlagun and Nirjuli has been disrupted. Informed PHED officials.
Speaking to media, Naharlagun PHED Executive Engineer Teli Dutto Camdir informed that the water supply main pipeline coming from Nyorch intake point forward Naharlagun and Nirjuli township has been chocked near helipad below a multi storied building. It a matter of great concern that such incident has occurred and we cannot deployed machine like JCB due to lack of passage. As the main pipeline is coming from Nyorch and the area around helipad measuring around 800 mtrs are low lying area and velocity and force of the water supply is maximum and maybe due to chocking the blast has occurred. I have informed the matter to various concern, the administration has also been informed accordingly. He said.
Since the water supply feed a large area and we cannot wait and the work has been started manually which will continue 24×7. Hope we may able to execute the work and restored soon. Till such time the denizens have to maintain patience. However I have directed sub-division officer and section officer if necessary the water supply may be delivered by tankers. Said Executive Engineer.
it is necessary that if the land owner began with construction of dwelling in their respective land/plot they need to check and ensure that there is no water supply and power supply and government installation and public utility service and in such cases it affect the general masses. If someone has verified these things today thousand of people would not have suffered and it is the reason the administration has made it mandatory to take NOC from the public utility departments.
