Union Minister Barla urged to approve digital museums in State

ITANAGAR, MARCH 23 : The Information Technology & Communication  (IT) Chairman Doni NIch on Wednesday met the union minister of state for Minority Affairs John Barla at New Delhi and discussed various issues of state, submitted few proposals for state for consideration.

Chairman  IT Doni NIch informed that we have a long meeting with the union minister of state John Barla at his official residence  today at New Delhi and apprise him of several issues of state and its people. He patiently listened to several issues related to the state and other issues of the region. Nich said.

Arunachal Pradesh has a population of cent percent tribal state with diverse socio-cultural, multi lingual tribes with major 27 tribes and more than 100 sub-tribes. In the absence of well documentation the cultural identity is at the verge of extinction and there is an urgent need for documentation to preserve and protect the rich culture including festival, art, literature and manuscript. The department of IT & Communication endeavours to develop a digital museum.

 I have requested the union minister for approval of a digital museum to protect and preserve the rich culture and heritage including art, literature, festivals and manuscript under Hamari Ddhrohar scheme for Arunachal Pradesh. He said.

With regards to development of technology in the service sector, Nich said that Arunachal Pradesh is a geographically challenging state with hilly and tough terrain. The lack of proper and inadequate medical facilities at far flung area and district level is one of the pain areas confronting the state. Due to lack of proper and better health facilities the patients have to visit the nearest state of Assam and Meghalaya at Dibrugarh, Guwahati and Shillong for health checkup which takes a day or two to reach from the remote or the district headquarter. In order to provide or avail better health care facility to the patient of the remote district the IT department is proposing for telemedicine, tele consultation  and tele emergency service in state, a proposal for establishing of ‘Telemedicine, Tele consultation & Tele emergency service for Arunachal Pradesh” has been propose and submitted to the ministry of minority affairs. Nich Doni said.

The union minister Barla has approved in principle the few projects for the state which include Telemedicine emuseum etc for the next financial year. The minister also assured to support the government of Arunachal Pradesh in various other IT initiatives. Nich Doni added.
