ZIRO, 23 Mar: National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Saint Claret College, Ziro (SCCZ) on Wednesday observed Shaheed Diwas remembering the valour and sacrifice of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar, and Shivaram Rajguru.
To commemorate the day, the unit took out a rally which was flagged off by the principal of the college, Dr Fr. Allwyn Mendoz, from the college campus via Hari village-NH13-Rake Lembo-Tazang village-Kalung village and back to the college as a mark of respect for the unmatched courage of the martyrs.
The staff and students of the college participated actively.
The rally was organized as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to spread awareness about the importance of the day and to encourage them to partake in nation-building activities.
The programme also aimed at imparting a sense of honour and duty among the students by celebrating the spirit of patriotism shown by the freedom fighters martyred on this day.
