ITANAGAR, SEPT 22 ; Thousands of people from various CBOs, students and other unions, association and organization on Friday afternoon takes in candle march showing solidarity with the decease family in city demanding justice for Late Koj Bukar, a student of NIT , Silchar, Assam who died on Sept 15 in university campus.
People holding candles and carrying leaflet, placards and banners shouting slogans against the NIT, Silchar authority and held responsible for death of the Late Bukar at the campus.
Speaking to media, Koj Pullo the father of Late Koj Bukar who come here to take part in the peaceful march said that it “ My son may not come back but what has happened at NIT Silchar need proper investigation and the protest going on there till today speaks everything that everything is not well and the system is not in proper order at NIT campus”. “We send our children to get proper education with a proper system but the authority behave toward their own students is not fair and those authority sitting in the NIT should be punished as per law”, “ I am a father and I can know the pain of losing my own son who have no fault of his but the authority in NIT does not try to understands the problems of students and same attitude has been done with others students and it’s not fair and the culprit should be arrested and terminated form his services”. He said.
Hundreds of students form various organization including the NIT students who are carrying out protest and democratic movement at Silchar is a testimony of the state of affairs going on there and all those involved in the incident must be arrested and book as per law. He added.
The Apatani students union (ASU) President Pura Nado inform that “ we have already submitted a representation to the chief minister regarding tragic death of Late Koj Bukar, a 3rd year electrical engineering student of NIT Silchar, Assam. He said.
“ We are in grief regarding the tragic incident of death of Late Koj Bukar, he was a bright student and got admission after cracking the entrance examination at All India level and was pursuing his electrical engineering and was in 3rd year. The tragic death fo Koj Bukar need condemnation from all angle in strongest term. He said.
Late Bukar was found hanging at his hostel room, after the body was found the students of the NIT began protesting against own authority. There was no any pressure of his own on his but due to pleasure put by the authority and such pleasure has been done by the authority to several others as per source which at all is uncalled for and not justified by any parents. Several students of the university are being insulted including Late Bukar. All these show that it is a clear case of abetment to suicide and the allege Dean, Professor and who so ever may the authority must be taken to task and face legal action including arrest and punishment as per law. He ASU President said.
We will meet the Chief minister, Home Minster and police chief on the said matter and urge upon the state leadership to immediately interferer in to the matter and taken necessary action to get justice to Late Koj Bukar. He added.
AAPSU Vice President Nabam Gandhi inform that the students community of state has been disheartened by the said incident of the death of Late Koj Bukar at NIT SIlchar. We condemn the incident and demand justice for the promising students of state who was a promising and bright students. A team of AAPSU will go to NIT SIlchar to know the ground reality of the fact and circumstances. We will also press upon the authority and government to take action against all the allege accused and culprits ho are behind the act and are punished as per law. AAPSU VP added.
He further said that such incident has shocked the confidence of students community of state who are pursuing education outside the state and insecurities to the families. To win the confidence of the parents and people of state the state government should immediately interfere and conduct investigation through independence agency. Our two ping demand is Fast track of the investigation process and fair and through investigation of the case to unearth the root cause of the suicide and exemplary punishment be awarded to the culprit behind the death of promising students Late Koj Bukar
All together 32 organization from various parts of state take to city street demanding justice for Late Bukar. The organisation which include Tani Supun Dukun (TSD), All Arunachal Pradesh students union (AAPSU), All Dutta development welfare committee (ADDWC), Apatani youth association (AYA), AWAZ, All lower Subansiri district students union (ALSDSU), Michi welfare society, Padi Sports club, Arunodaya university students union, NIT Jote stdents, Apatani students union of Himalayan university, All Taro Taku welfare society, NERIST students union, All Kurung Kumey district students union, All Hija welfare society of Capital complex, All Pura welfare association of Capital complex, All Taro Taku youth association, Apatani Baptist church Itanagar, Dera Natung government college students union, Papum Pare collegian coordination committee, ASU of RGU, ASU of Gauahati, All Papum Pare district students union, Dutta Peoples forum, Jarbom Gamlin law college students union and others.
