The Arunachal Pradesh government has executed prompt transfers and postings of senior police officers in a recent official notification. The reshuffle involves three IPS officers and four Arunachal Pradesh Police Service (APPS) officers, strategically placed in different districts within the northeastern state.
Longding SP Tumme Amo, previously stationed in the insurgency-affected district, now assumes the role of Commandant of the 2nd Arunachal Pradesh Armed Battalion (AAPBN) in Aalo, West Siang district. Concurrently, APPS officer Dekio Gumja, former Commandant of 2nd AAPBN-Aalo, transitions to the position of SP in Longding, as directed by Chief Secretary Dharmendar.
Other notable changes include Kamle SP R P Meena, who takes on the role of officer on special duty to the Director General of Police (DGP). Additionally, IPS officer S Prabhu Desai, awaiting posting, has been appointed as the new SP (Crime). This strategic realignment aims to optimize the operational capacities of the police force across diverse districts in Arunachal Pradesh.
