State ready to celebrate 75th India independence at IG Park

ITANAGAR, AUGUST 13 ; The deck is all cleared amid Covid 19 pandemic the state is all set to celebrate the 75th year of Independence day here at Indira Gandhi Park (IG Park) on August 15 with ceremonial flag hosting and few other items.

As per information the capital administration is managing all the arrangements and supervising all the arrangement activities right from pandal decoration, management of 2000 seats in the tents and rain is continuous for the last few days so arrangements are being done keeping the weather condition. Providing plantation and decoration of gates in various locations, repairing and maintenance of arterial road leading to IG Park from C-I sector and other issues.

Capital Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom informs the media that we are on job and managing all related activities so that the national function of our India independence day is celebrated smoothly. We have made all the arrangements in accordance with the weather condition. We have taken special care of the Covid 19 protocol and SoP so that we have issued the limited invitation of around 2000 and seating arrangement is also done in that way so that social distancing is properly maintained. Potom said.

No special arrangement has been made and this time in view of Covid 19 pandemic there has been only two uniform contingent one of men and other of women platoon from PTC, Banderdewa with one platoon of band party. He said.

The national flag will be unfurl followed by playing of the national anthem and release of around 500 tri-colour balloons and static parade. The chief Minister will address the independence day to people of the state from the IG Park. The state award will also be announced on the occasion. DC said.

Meanwhile, IGP (Law & Order) Chukhu Apa has informed that in view of independence day celebration and also otherwise security forces have been alerted to be deployed in all the required locations. There is no law and order problem across the state. Apa added.

However, Capital SP Jimmy Chiram informed the media, in the capital complex, more than one thousand security personnel were deployed to oversee the independence day celebration in the state capital. Arrangement of traffic management on roads and static location has also been done. The public who are visiting to witness the independence day celebration at IG park are requested to come from D Sector and D Sector gate. Even though people can come from other gates also, it would be better to take the D Sector gate. SP added.

SP appeal the general public to celebrate the day but also maintain Covid protocol as a safety measures to remain safe from the infection of the Covid 19 (Coronavirus)

It is to mention that the final rehearsal of the independence day was done, the DGP R P Upadhyaya, Capital DC Talo Potom, IGP (LO) Chukhu Apa, other senior officer of PHQ and City SP Jimmy Chiram among other were present on the occasion.
