SSB DG boosts morale and fosters relations during Indo-Bhutan visit

Rashmi Shukla, the Director General of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), recently made a four-day visit to the Indo-Bhutan border posts located in Tawang and West Kameng districts of Arunachal Pradesh.

The purpose of her visit was to boost the morale of SSB personnel posted in the region. During her visit, the DG was accompanied by Binod Nayak, the Inspector General of Frontier Headquarter, SSB Tezpur, and visited the extreme border posts of the two districts.

In an effort to foster a cordial relationship with local people, the DG emphasized the need for SSB’s lead intelligence department to develop bonds with the locals. She also encouraged SSB to adopt villages in the area to provide better opportunities for the locals to join the organization. The DG emphasized the importance of exhibiting patriotism in serving the nation and advised her officers to encourage people to avoid involvement in supplying or cultivating wild cannabis.

The DG also visited the Saheed Vatika at New Bomdila, Pedung, and laid a wreath on the statue of the martyr constable, Late S Amongba Sangtam, who attained martyrdom in Bhairabkunda under Udalguri district of Assam in 2006. AKC Singh, the Deputy Inspector General of Bomdila Sector Headquarter, SSB, briefed the DG on the martyr Sangtam and highlighted the achievements of the Sector Headquarter.

The DG’s visit was aimed at boosting the morale of SSB personnel and fostering a better relationship with the locals in the region.
