Sol Dodum team met Home Minister on charter of demand, discussion to continue on Monday again, dharna to continue

ITANAGAR, APRIL 23: A delegation of nine member team led by Activist Sol Dodum who was on sit on dharna for last five day at Tennis court, IG Park on Saturday afternoon meet the Home Minister Bamang Felix at his Arunachal Pradesh legislative assembly secretariat and submitted charter of demand before the government. Said Sol Dodum to the media.

Dodum after having a meeting for more than two hours with Home Minister Bamang Felix while briefing the media said that we have submitted our charter of demand and stick to all the points in the memorandum. Our protest will continue as of now. He said.

The Home Minister has ask for another meeting on Monday, we have placed our charter of demand before the government and will stick to all points, I can’t say as of now that government is considering or not considering the demands but hopeful that the government will consider the demands as is genuine for the greater interest of general public. He said.

We have submitted a 7 points charter of demand and if the government calls for another discussion we will respond till date the charter of demand is fulfilled and the democratic movement (dharna) will continue. Added Dodum.

Briefing the media on the meeting, the Home and Border Affairs Minister and Government Spokesman Bamang Felix said that ‘ Sol Dodum team of nine members has come and discussed the issues and heard patiently, all the members have participated in the meeting. I have given assurance to them that the government  will look into all the points and hopefully we will come to a conclusion by next week”. He said.

I have appealed to them that any kind of protest to draw the attention of the government and they did it and I have requested them to call off their dharna. I have told them that a secretary level officer will go to study the facts and figures, based on fact finding the government will take a decision. He said.

Nobody will be speared if found misdoing or corruption in the enquiry.  

With regards to the attack on Sol Dodum, Felix said that an investigation is going on and the people were arrested and they are on bail by the court of law. I have the details of the police action and direction has been given to complete the investigation soon. He said.

With regards to the report of the Chief Engineer (PHED) the Home Minister said that the report has been submitted but regarding providing of potable drinking water to the public it is the responsibility and duty of the government to provide potable drinking water to its citizens and the new scheme of JJM is in progress and 80 % work has been completed and the state government is targeting to complete a year ahead of its targeted date 2024. He said.

We have started discussion on the charter of demand and we will see that where wrongdoing has taken place will be taken and action will be initiated. He appeal the people of Seppa not to create law and order issue and government is discussing the demands and place
