Social worker, public leader and former IMC councilor Tai Tasung passes away in a fatal road accident

BANDERDEWA, Social worker, public leader and former IMC councilor Tai Tasung passed away on Friday late evening in a road accident near Police training centre Gate NO-1, Banderdewa. 

Banderdewa (Assam) Police out post In-charge, Raju Duwara informed that Tasung’s car just left CCF colony and headed towards Gohpur side and collided with an oncoming truck, about 300 meters from CCF colony exit.

The driver of the truck fled the scene after the accident. However, the truck driver is supposed to report to the station on Sunday, informed Duwara. After conducting PME the body has been handed to the aggrieved family for conducting last rites. He said.

A case has been registered at Bihpuria Police Station Vide 607/2021 under section 279/304A IPC. The case is currently under investigation and the legal formalities are being done. 

The last rites for the deceased will be performed on Sunday at his residence at Banderdewa. The family sources said.

Late Tai Tasung was actively involved in several social welfare activities for the welfare of the people and development of the area. He was also associated with the market welfare association of Banderdewa and has served as Vice President. He was the first elected  Councilor of Itanagar municipal council (IMC) and was having close relation with the people of Banderdewa and adjoining area.

Late Tasung son of Lt Tai Hanu was a permanent resident of Laying village in Sangram circle of Kurung kumey district and was settled in CCF Colony, Banderdewa and was a popular figure of the area.

As per information Late Tasung was very much instrumental in keeping peace and tranquility and communal harmony among the various communities of Arunachal Pradesh and the people living across the boundary in Assam side.
