Plastic free flower pot launched, APBRDA appeal denizens to start using bamboo products to maintain environment friendly

ITANAGAR, MARCH 18 ; The Arunachal Pradesh Bamboo resource development agency (APBRDA) on Saturday has launched bamboo flower pot which can replace the plastic to maintain the environment friendly atmosphere. 

The launching ceremony was held at Van VIgyan Kendra, Chessa in Papum Pare district in presence of dozens of bamboo farmers of the district and officers and officials of the APBRDA.

Speaking on the occasion, APBRDA Chairman Tungri Effa said that ‘ today world leaders and scientists and environmentalist are concern on the global warming and protection and preservation of environment, flora and fauna. The central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pema Khandu is equally concern on the matter and various steps has been taken up. In our state several major issues has been taken up like of the Air gun surrender abhyan by the Minister Environment & Forest Mama Natung, the Protection of catchment area of source of drinking water Act has been passed in the assembly, plantation schemes has been encouraged by the department to the locals so that the greenery is maintained. The green tribunal and pollution and control board are also acting against defaulters and action is being initiated for polluting the environment by various sources. He said.

Plastic which has become daily use at home, school, offices and everywhere which need to be discarded by concern citizen of state and country and since the APBRDA which is promoting the plantation of bamboo and of bamboo products  need to be adopted in various forms. He said.

After the declaration of bamboo as grass it is necessary that the use of bamboo has to be promoted for commercial use and the deserving youths should come up and venture into the scheme to become entrepreneur and promote economic sustainability and become aaatma nirbhar. said APBRDA Chairman.

Once several upcoming projects of APBRDA is completed at Namsai, Pasighat, Roing etc and the Bamboo Technology park near Poms several youths can able to avail the benefit. He said. 

The APBRDA is educating the people specially the rural youths so that they can take up bamboo plantation in their respective plots and also trained them, get local and subsidy for its commercial utility and learn to earn for livelihood and sustainability and become employers instead of looking for employment. He added.  

He assured to provide technology and support of locals youths who are deserving to venture into the bamboo production and cultivation on commercial basis.  

DFO (SIlviculture) Surej Singh, APBRDA MD Dr. G Murtem, Scientist RK Taj among others officers and officials of APBRA and forest department local leaders and PRI Leaders were present on the occasion.
