NHPC funded Handloom Training Centre inaugurated at Dollungmukh.

Dolungmukh, Sep 10: A newly established Handloom Training Centre was inaugurated by Vipin Gupta, Executive Director, Subansiri Lower HE Project Saturday at Dollungmukh Circle Distt Kamle (A.P). Nido Yapop, Chairperson, Kemli Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd, General Managers  and other Sr. Officials of NHPC as well as local villagers were also present on the occasion.

Under its Corporate Social Responsibility-Sustainable Development (CSR-SD) initiative, NHPC’s Subansiri Lower HE Project had signed an MOU with Kemli Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd.Dollungmukh Circle for providing Skill Enhancement Training to 160 nos of  women in Dollungmukh Circle, Dist. Kamle, Arunachal Pradesh. Accordingly, this Centre will provide training in Operation of Automatic Handloom to the trainees in 04(four) batches of 40 women for a period of three months each.  

Addressing the gathering, Shri. Vipin Gupta highlighted the importance of Skill Development in the present day scenario especially amongst the economically weaker section of the society and stressed on the need for empowering women through skill development so that they become equal partners in earning livelihood for the family. The Executive Director also appreciated the hard work  and dedicated efforts of Nido Yapop, Chairperson, Kemli Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd for the implementation of this initiative.
