Newly posted DGP Satish Golcha assured to work for promotion and strengthening of police force; Sought public support

ITANAGAR, 23 Jun: The DGP of Arunachal Pradesh Police Satish Golcha has rejoined office after recovering from a health issue. Briefing the press on Thursday he said he is now healthy and doing fine. “Our state is very big. It shares international boundaries and there is an insurgency problem in districts like TCL. Therefore there is massive responsibility on the state,” said DGP.

He said the recruitment process will be speed up to fill the gaps in the state police. While appealing to the public to cooperate with the police, he said APP will work with the motive of providing service to the public and improving policing.

The DGP also announced that police will concentrate on tackling the drug supply in the state. On the growing case of cyber crime, he said the state police are training its officers to carry out the investigation related to it.

“Cyber crime is increasing and this is dangerous. Several cases of online fraud are being reported with involvement of economic offences. People also need to remain aware and alert,” said DGP.

As per information the cyber crime police station which has functioning independently now is actively engaging in its activities with registration 474 cases since 2019 and 215 in 2022 itself with highest in capital complex with 184 and is a matter of great concern so it is needed that everyone remain with great precaution in social media like facebook and other social media sites.

As per information the crime branch police station which has been operated after the notification in 2002 and working on sensitive and heinous crime and investigation and the case which are referred by district police are taken up and the current year 35 cases were registered out of which 31 cases are been either resolved and investigated and completed or charge sheets whereas 43 cases are still pending which include few of them are previous cases. He said.

Several infrastructural works are being taken up and I am optimistic that the state police will become one of the best police. He added.
