ITANAGAR, DEC 21 : The fourteen member team of Netball association of Arunachal Pradesh (NAAP) from the state is all set to take part 1st time in 35th national junior championship-2022 at Salt lake in West Bengal from December 25th to 28th.
A felicitation function was organized here at a city hotel which was attended by the Pisatana ZPM Nilly LIkha Tabo as special guest and other youth leaders of Lower Subansiri and capital complex.
ZPM Tabo who was a former student leader motivated the students to play with discipline and commitment to play any game and sport. Citing the benefit of playing games and sports Tabo said that the playing games and sport will make you fit and fine with a healthy body and sound mind and at the same time if your win a national and international repute and required medal the state government has made provision for providing employment to the meritorious sportsperson. He said.
Though players from the state are doing well, the state government should help the players and team with incentives so that they do not face lots of problems in making arrangements for the players for training, transportation and accommodation for national and international events. He appeals to the state government to extend helping hands.
NAAP General secretary Techi Tongum informed that the Netball game may be new for the state and the formation of organization began in 2018 but due to Covid pandemic we could not do much but this is the first time our boys are taking part in any national level championship.
Fourteen member team from state including 12 players, Techi Tongum as team manager, Mukesh Kumar Coach. The 35tnh junior netball championship-2022 will be held at Salt lake near Kolkatta in west Bengal from December 25th to 28. Since this is the first time we are hopeful that our players also do well and win some medals. He said.
Since there is no support from the government, we are hopeful that we can also arrange necessary infrastructure and equipment in time to come for the progress and improvement of the netball game in the state and be able to produce good players. Added NAAP President Tongum.
Earlier the guests also lunch the jersey and dress of NAAP which was sponsored by Naara Aaba of Ziro.
