MP Tapir Gao’s cousin brother goes missing in Guwahati

By Nipjyoti Kalita || ITANAGAR, Jul 29: A complaint was lodged at Dispur police station today claiming that a relative of Arunachal Pradesh MP Tapir Gao went missing from Guwahati since evening on Friday.

As per information, one Tahong Gao from Ruksin in Arunachal Pradesh’s East Siang district, has gone missing in Guwahati and a cousin of the missing person lodged an FIR at Dispur police station.

According to family members, Tahong Gao is a cousin brother of East Arunachal MP Tapir Gao.

Tahong reached Guwahati for business purposes.

When contacted, the Officer-in-Charge of Dispur police station, Rajib Kr. Saikia said, “As per a complaint received from the nephew of Tahong Gao, his uncle has remained missing in Guwahati since Friday afternoon. His uncle said that he had gone to meet his friend at Ganeshguri in a car. After they left, he wasn’t able to contact his uncle. The phone number of the person remained switched off from that time, the nephew of the missing person informed.”

Dispur OC Saikia while denying the ‘kidnapping’ theory said, “The nephew of the person claimed it to be a kidnapping case, but we don’t think it to be a kidnapping case as the person had gone with his friend in a car and told his nephew to stay there.”

Saikia informed that the SP (East Siang) also contacted his counterpart in Guwahati to know more about the case.The Dispur Police has started a search operation for the missing person in Guwahati and hoped that he would be traced soon.
