CS emphasizes urgent need to improve digital communication in State

Itanagar, July 29: The 2nd State Level Broadband Committee (SBC) meeting on National Broadband Mission and Bharat Net was held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Shri. Dharmendra at Civil Secretariat, today.

The Chief Secretary stressed on the urgent need to improve the digital communication of the State especially in the remote villages of the State. Therefore, it was decided in the meeting that by April 2023, 566 BTS will be commissioned in different USOF BTS locations of the State.

He told that in order to improve the digital connectivity in the area, the State Government is committed to extend all possible support to the telecom service providers.

He also told the telecom service providers to work in close coordination with the Deputy Commissioners of the districts and solve the issues related to site acquisition, power supply and others that may arise during the course of commissioning of the project.

Commissioner PWD Kaling Tayeng, Secretary Power A.K. Bisht, Secretary IT Anirudh Singh, Souvick Kr. Das DoT, GOI (Arunachal Pradesh), General Manager BSNL Arung Siram, General Manager BBNL Dilip Chiram among others were present in the meeting.
