Minister Mama Natung flagged off the Arunachal contingent for Nasik, Maharashtra to take part in 27th national youth festival

ITANAGAR, Jan 08: Sports & Youth Affairs, WRD and environment & Forest Minister Mama Natung on Monday flagged off the 71 member state contingent who will take part in the 27th National Youths Festival 2024 to be held at Nashik in Maharashtra from 12 – 16 January. The flagged off ceremony was attended by several officers and officials of Youth affairs directorate and others.. the ceremony was held at DK Convention centre, IG Park.

Contingent comprises 71 from various districts of the state including officials would be participating in the event such as group folk dance, group folk song, solo folk dance, solo folk song, story writing, poster making, declamation and photography other events etc.

Interacting with the contingent, Natung wished them the best and anticipated that they would bring laurels for the state. Also Natung ask them to maintain discipline and take part in all the events so as to the experience and ability also increase and win medals for state at national festival. He said.

Citing the instance recently state’s participants won 13 medals in the 37th National Sports Competition, Natung said, “You would be representing and carrying entire images of the state in your shoulder, thus putting your best & dedication to your chosen disciplines should be your first priority,”. Everyone does not get the opportunity to represent Arunachal Pradesh at the national level event, the opportunity should not be a waste and every participants should put best effort to win the competition and bring laurel for the state. he added.

Informing, the state government led by chief minister Pema Khandu is already committed to provide assistance & platform to all the budding/talented youths/students in the state, he advised the contingent in particular and every sports person/students as a whole to avoid drugs.

Ill effect of drug menace will consume your entire career and ruined the family peace and economy, so instead of getting inclined towards drugs, concentrate on your ambition and work hard until you achieve your goal, he added.

Our tradition and culture are our identity and we should explore these apart of our beautiful tourism potential which have vast potential of development in employment and tourism promotion across the state, country and globe through technology and social media and media. He further said. 

Accompanying the minister along with director youth affairs Ramesh Linggi, Secretary Sports Abu Tayeng also suggested a contingent to interact with the other participants of the 28 states of the country and spread awareness about the tradition and culture of the state.

Meanwhile, Secretary AbuTayeng also urged them to take utmost care of their health and to look after each other. State government is with you all and play well and win medals and bring laurel for state.
