Nipjyoti Kalita || Naharlagun, July 18: Kamdam Sikom, an esteemed officer of the Arunachal Pradesh Police Service (APPS), has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Police (SP) for the East Kameng district. Having previously served as the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) in Itanagar, Sikom brings with him a wealth of experience and a steadfast commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the district’s residents.
Expressing his gratitude and enthusiasm, Sikom introduced himself to the community and highlighted his dedication to maintaining law and order in the district. He emphasized his team’s unwavering dedication to combatting crimes, regulating traffic, and increasing police presence in the area. Sikom’s vision extends beyond static policing, as he aims to adapt and address the evolving challenges faced by the district through dynamic policing strategies.
Sikom also stressed the importance of fostering a strong bond between the police and the community. To achieve this, he announced plans for active engagement in awareness programs focused on various issues contributing to community development. Recognizing the significance of a harmonious police-public relationship, Sikom believes that it serves as the foundation for a peaceful society.
In addition, the new SP highlighted the significance of discipline within the police force. Ensuring that officers are well-trained, professional, and dedicated to their duties will be a top priority. Sikom aims to establish a visible police presence in key areas of the district, including Bana, Chayangtajo, Bameng, Kenewa, Lumdang, and beyond.
