IMC to evict stray animals from city roads, appeal denizens to keep their animals in safe custody

Manoj Singh || ITANAGAR, JULY 3 : The Itanagar municipal Corporation (IMC) to start with eviction of stray animals from the city. IMC has appealed to the denizens to keep their animals in safe custody.

Speaking to the media, The IMC Commissioner Likha Tejji said that several orders and awareness has been done in the past either by Deputy Commissioner Itanagar capital complex and IMC and has been implemented on ground.  Eviction drives were also carried out and several stray animals were removed from the city roads on several occasions. But it is a matter of concern that even today the stray animals are found loitering on the city streets even on four lane roads. He said.

Acton is not a solution to any problem but it is the owners of the respective animals which include the cattle’s, cow, dog, goat and even pigs found roaming and loitering in various parts of capital complex. He observed.

The stray animals not only creating nuisance in the public places but causing obstruction of free traffic and traffic problems. The animals are the source of accidents and several such incidents and accidents has taken place in the capital complex which goes unreported, as per sources  such accidents has involved in damaged of vehicles and injury to commuters and co-passengers caused by two wheelers and four wheelers. He observed. 

Everybody has to cooperate to make Itanagar city a clean and it would only be possible if everyone extended their helping hands to remove such nuisance form the city. The cattle owners could also be penalized who do not confine their cattle and pet animals. The IMC Commissioner added.
