Sidisow inspected damaged water supply pipelines of Bhalukpong township

Naharlagun, Jul 4: The Thrizino-Buragoan MLA and Enviroment and Forest Minister’s Advisor Kumsi Sidisow on Sunday visited the damaged pipelines of Bhalukpong township of West Kameng district with officers and officials of PHED department, local leaders.

He discussed the water supply issue and updated the status of water supply to the denizens of Bhalukping township. He also interacted with the local leaders on the scarcity of water supply in the EAC headquarter. 

Later he visited the landslide zone near Lumum waterfall and few portion of the main supply line which has been badly affected and the supply lines has been washed away on June 20 last due to heavy landslide treagered by landslide and flash flood.

Sidisaw has directed the officials to work for restoration of the main pipeline even if the landslide continues. He ask the PHED officials to immediately work out modalities so as to provide water supply to around 5000-6000 peoples of the township.

It is to inform that the denizens of Bhalukpong township is experiencing acute scarcity of watersupply as the main supply line of 150 mm dia coming from Dejling area around 20 KM away has been washed away near Lumum fall and water supply has been disrupted since June 20. More than 20 pipeline has been washed away and the area is prone to landslides and due to continuous rainfall and landslides the restoration work could not be done insipte of several attempts.

The tankers of ITBP, BRO and one from PHED have been providing watersupply to the denizens on alternate days for the last 14 days.
