IGP Chukhu Apa appeal the citizens to obey traffic rules

ITANAGAR, The Arunachal Pradesh Police, Inspector General of Police (IGP) led by Chuku Apa today initiated traffic awareness among for masses here on Wednesday. Apa distributed pamphlets to the road users and urged everyone to obey traffic rules.

Apa also interacted with traffic violators and asked them to cooperate with the traffic police personnel for their own good, while educating them about the new traffic rules and the hike in the fines imposed recently.

Apa especially stressed on the traffic offences by juveniles, who despite being underaged, drive or ride without a driving license and cause hazard to themselves and the road using community as a whole. direction has been issued to strictly maintain the underage children’s in school uniform driving vehicle and warned those who are not following the rule of law and take necessary action and penalty. Action will not only initiated against the juvenile but to their parents. 

This is festive season and year ending and new year celebration so alert has been given to all SPs across the state to maintain extra vigil and appeal not to mixup driving with drinking and also give space to others on the street and become a good driver. IGP added.

He further said lakhs of revenue is being collected which is not a good sign, it would be a happy moment if all the citizens specially road users vehicle owners and drovers follow the traffic rule and penalty collection is reduced.  

but SP Capital Jimmy Chiram, Dy SP traffic P Nobin Jomoh, OC Traffic and other members of the traffic unit were present on the awareness programme.

More than five  hundreds pamphlets were distribute while more than two hundreds drivers and vehicle were given away with traffic awareness at the roadside pathsala.
