The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Lt. General KT Parnaik, PVSM, UYSM, YSM (Retd.) met the Defence Minister Raj Nath Singh at New Delhi on 24th May 2023. They deliberated upon the security of borders and the need for collaborative development between the security forces and the vibrant villages near the border.
The Governor emphasized the need for comprehensive surveillance of the border areas and coordination between the intelligence agencies. He apprised the Defence Minister of the need for providing additional Central Armed Police forces to guard the border as well as deter smuggling of narcotics in the State.
The Governor reviewed air services in Arunachal Pradesh, stressing on reactivation of Alinye ALG in Dibang Valley District and construction of ALG in Dirang, West Kameng District, which will go a long way in optimizing operational efficiency and facilitating tourism in the State.
