Governor flags off ‘Ekta Evam Shradhanjali Abhiyan’ motorcycle rally

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Lt. General KT Parnaik, PVSM, UYSM, YSM (Retd.) flagged off the ‘Ekta Evam Shradhanjali Abhiyan’ motorcycle rally, organised by Border Roads Organization (BRO) from Raj Bhavan, Itanagar on 18th April 2023. The Rally has been conducted by BRO to commemorate the sacrifices and contribution of BRO Karmyogis in nation building (Rashtra Nirman) and also to mark the 64th Raising Day of BRO.
The Governor congratulated the Border Roads Organization on its 64th Raising Day and greeted the BRO Karmyogis on the special occasion. He expressed his hope that the occasion will usher-in fresh perseverance and mission orientation for the organization and enhance the vigour and zeal of the Project personnel.
Conveying his appreciation to the BRO for organising the 3000 km 30 days long MotorCycle Rally, the Governor said that it reflects the commitment of the organization and promotes the spirit of India and unity in diversity and resonate the spirit of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. He said that the event will contribute towards the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in making our country ‘Sashakt Bharat’.
Complimenting the Riders, the Governor advised them to conduct public outreach programmes for the youth during the rally and highlighted the excellent accomplishment of the premier road construction organization of the Indian Army. He also advised the 15-member motorcycle team from BRO and Indian Army to motivate youth to join the organization and the Indian Armed Forces.
The Governor commended the BRO for its contributions in providing the much needed road connectivity to the people and the places in Arunachal Pradesh. He said that BRO roads connect villages, towns and people and the prosperity of the region owes lots to the BRO.
The Governor said that the Border Roads Organization has become one of the most valued partners in the development of the State. He called upon the BRO to lend a hand to the State Government in its Vibrant Village Programme to develop the remote villages located in the International borders.
Recalling his association with BRO, the Governor remembered the personnel of the organization who laid down their lives while serving the nation and said they will always be remembered.
Brigadier Yogest Nair, VSM, Chief Engineer, Project Arunank, BRO briefed the Governor about the Motorcycle Rally. Senior army, ITBP and Police officers were present on the occasion along with NCC cadets.
