ITANAGAR, NOV 1 : Several family members and relatives of 1st Everester of state Tapi Mra and his assistant Niku Dao has been sit on dharna since Monday afternoon at protest ground at IG Park demanding clearcut information and whereabouts of Tapi Mra and his assistant Niku Dao.
The family members inform the media that since Tapi Mra who is the 1st Everester from state to scale the Mount everest from state alongwith his assistant Niku Dao have been went missing since August 17 after they embarked on scaling the Mount Kyarisatam, the state’s highest peak located in East Kameng district. But it is more than 2 and half month and their whereabout is not known.
The family members allege lackadaisical attitude of East Kameng Deputy Commissioner PA Polutmala in supporting the search operation of the everester in the Mount Kyarisatam ranges.
even the 13-member search and rescue team recovered the belongings of Everester Tapi Mra and his attendant Niku Dao from a snow-covered area, a few distance away from camp-II but he search operation by the state government is yet to start and for what they are waiting is yet to be known and we are waiting for clear-cut clarification by the Seppa DC who has never been pro active shown in the case. Several Gadgets like GPS, mobile phones, tents, boots and other belongings of Mra and Dao along with their personal belongings which include Indian National Flag, walkie talkies, sleeping bags and State flag which were dumped under the snow were recovered by the team. We meet the CM once but after recovery fo the personal belonging of the evereser we have tried our best to meet the Chief Minister and apprise of the received of the items but we did not get appointment to meet him and put forward our pain and grievances.
The family member raised serious concern and alleged that it was due to the negligence and arrogant behaviour of the DC that the first search and rescue operation failed.
Since Mra was an employee of Youth Affairs department and was an adventure promotion officer but we did not see any serious concern of the department and its officers and till date no senior officers of the department had visited us and discuses on the matter is a matter fo great concern. Finding no option we planned to sit on dharna in front of the directorate of Youth Affair but the capital administration direction we are here at IG Park since Monday afternoon and will continue here till a clear-cut information and where-about is not provided to us. The aggrieved family members said.
There is no one whom we may approach for the rescue operation and support but it is the state government who is the guardian of its citizens and so we will continue our movement for providing of justice to 1st everester of state Tapi Mra and his Asstiant Niku Dao. The family members added.
The family members further inform that we want Tapi Mra and Niku Dao must brought back dead or live by the concern department, Immediate setup of a high level enquiry committee
and legal action against Seppa DC.
