Don’t park vehicles randomly on city roads: Capital DC to citizens

ITANAGAR, 5 Apr: The deputy commissioner ICR Talo Potom has urged residents not to park their vehicles randomly on the highway, colony, and sector roads. Talking to the press here on Tuesday he said parking vehicles on the road creates trouble for motorists and others including the pedestrians.

“People constructing houses should ensure that they have a proper parking lot. The parking of vehicles on the roads not only troubles road users but is unsafe for the vehicle owner too. The car gets damaged and sometimes gets stolen,” said DC Potom.

Further, he informed that effort is being made to revive the Bank Tinali parking lot. “Recently I held a meeting with the IMC commissioner and SP capital in this regard. Hopefully, the parking lot will start operation at the earliest,” he added.

Potom also shared that the state govt has provided Rs 1.5 crore for the development of parking lots in the ICR and several parking places are being created.

Parking the vehicle without caring for others is a matter of great concern and soon the traffic police will start with taking action like parking on the highway to create awareness that the owner of a commercial building and even the private building should have its own parking without occupying the available space of the general public for pickup and dropping of passengers. Potom said.
