Consumer Awareness Programme Enlightens Arunachal Pradesh Citizens

Naharlagun, Dec 22: The Department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, organized a comprehensive Consumer Awareness Programme on December 22, 2023, at the Conference Hall of the Controller LM&CA C-sector Naharlagun.

The event aimed to educate NGOs, VCOs, traders, and others on crucial aspects such as Consumer Rights & Duties, the Role of State/District Commission, Non-Standard/Manipulation of Weight & Measures, Quality Standardization (ISI/Hallmark/ISO), Product Imitation, Package Commodities & MRP.

So Taba Taboo, in charge of Controller LM&CA, delivered a keynote address and shared valuable tips on consumer rights with the attendees. Debia Tana, ACLM (PP), addressed various consumer rights and duties, while retired ACLM She K.P Tago provided a beefed-up awareness session as a resource person.

The program witnessed active participation from various members, including So Tadar Nyanyia (Bazar Secy., Naharlagun Bazar Welfare Committee) and Se Bajarang Pacharia (Legal Advisor ACC&I). Department officers and officials were also present, emphasizing the significance of consumer awareness in safeguarding rights and ensuring fair trade practices.
