CM Pema Khandu Urges Prompt Resolution of Pending Projects and Land Acquisition Issues

ITANAGAR, June 7: Chief Minister Pema Khandu Chairs 26th e-Pragati Meeting, Urges Prompt Resolution of Pending Projects and Land Acquisition Issues

Chief Minister Pema Khandu led the 26th e-Pragati meeting with deputy commissioners of various districts to discuss the progress of projects, programs, and pending issues. The meeting, held online with the participation of top state officials and representatives from key agencies, focused on land acquisition for defense purposes and road construction in border areas.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Khandu emphasized the importance of expediting the submission of land compensation assessment reports by deputy commissioners. He urged districts including Kurung Kumey, Anjaw, Dibang Valley, Lower Dibang Valley, Changlang, Upper Siang, West Kameng, Shi Yomi, Upper Subansiri, Tawang, West Kameng, East Kameng, and Papum Pare to provide timelines for resolving pending issues. Khandu strongly discouraged the acceptance of fake land compensation demands and instructed the authorities to take legal action against those who engage in construction activities on notified lands.

Addressing the road connectivity for tourist circuits, Khandu recommended the inclusion of road and infrastructure projects under the recently launched Vibrant Village Program (VVP) by the central government. This move aims to enhance tourism in areas with untapped potential and encourage longer stays by offering tourist-friendly activities. The Chief Minister also suggested engaging locally trained youths as tourist guides, considering the upcoming tourism courses in state ITIs.

The meeting also focused on reviewing the status of 13 Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS), including PMAY (rural and urban), PMJAY, Amrit Sarovar, Atal Pension Yojna, PMJJBY, Jal Jeevan Mission, and PMGSY, to ensure 100% saturation within the prescribed timelines. Furthermore, Chief Minister Khandu expressed concern over the slow progress of erecting 4G towers across the state by BSNL and offered full support from the state government to expedite the process.

The e-Pragati meeting served as a platform for effective collaboration and strategic decision-making to address key development challenges and accelerate the overall progress of Arunachal Pradesh.
