ITANAGAR | Sep | 5 : Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced on Tuesday that staff and teachers of KGBV, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Awasiya Vidyalaya (residential schools), BRCCs, Vocational teachers and staff, including left out 529 ISSE teachers (erstwhile SSA) will receive a 22% salary hike and a 3% dearness allowance (DA).
In addition, Khandu said that 500 SSA teachers will be regularized this year. The announcement will benefit a total of 4,470 teachers and staff of education department and others across the state, he said.
Khandu said that the decision was taken to improve the welfare of teachers and to attract and retain quality talent in the education sector.
He announced this while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the Teachers’ Day celebration cum state teachers award distribution ceremony at the State Banquet Hall in on Tuesday afternoon here in Itanagar.
In the meantime, he appealed to parents to help in the holistic growth of their children by not only relying on teachers.
“Parents should also participate in the education system by guiding and motivating their children, they have equal roles and not just rely on teachers,” the CM said.
Responding to a question from reporters about his election manifesto to regularize SSA teachers, Khandu claimed that since 2016, as per his manifesto has regularized 1,789 teachers.
“Since 2009, 1,273 teachers have been regularized, with more than 400 teachers being regularized each year. This year, the number has been increased to 500,” Pema Khandu added.
” I am not excited to regularize them, but I will be happy only when they produce results,” Khandu added.
” The state government is trying to provide facilities and is doing so, but in return, I convey to SSA teachers on behalf of the public that they should bring results,” Khandu added..
However, All Arunachal Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers Association (ISSE) central body President Techi Bollo while reacting to the announcement of the Chief Minister Pema Khandu on the regularization of SSA teachers said that “ as per data form 2017-2-23 the ISSE teachers deals with the students upto Class VIII and we have been doing our best to deliver good. The Arun board exam conducted is comparatively good and its is more than 70%. He said.
We should not blame each other and join hands for promotion of education scenario of state. He said.
Regarding regularization issue, the ISSE President Techi Bollo that the BJP government has announced for regularization of teacher with 400 in 2019 in written manifesto. The 400 post announced in 2018 was has taken several years and today 500 so it may be around 900 so claiming the figure of resultant vacancy. There is a dispute in figure, they have added the normal DPC post the 400 post has added and it nothing to do with the DPC, it is a routine procedure. The package announcement 400 is of 2018 is different and department regularisaiton committee. He said.
