Biggest outdoor stadium of Arunachal to be inaugurated before golden jubilee celebration

ITANAGAR, FEB 17 : The biggest Outdoor Stadium of state at Yupia in Papum Pare district adjacent to the Capital complex which has already been completed in all respects  and awaiting the inauguration now renamed as Golden Jubilee Outdoor stadium to be inaugurated on Feb 19. Chief Minister Pema Khandu has consented to inaugurate the stadium and dedicate it to the public.

The golden jubilee stadium at  Yupia  is spread over an area of 59585.00 Sqm and stadium ground  area of 18232.00 Sqm for 15000 spectators constructed adjacent to Deputy Commissioner Office in Yupia the District headquarter of Papum Pare is ready in all respect and about to be inaugurated and all preparation has been done. The preparation ceremony has been organised by the state government and Papum Pare district administration. The preparation and necessary arrangements are being monitored by senior officers of state government and district administration for a grand celebration and expected that ten thousand expected to witness the celebration on February 20.  Several VIPs including the Assembly speakers PD Sona have visited and inspected the preparation works.

Initially, this project was sanctioned under SPA and later on funded  from  SADA after the discontinuation of the SPA programme.  It has an Entrance Lounge, Team Change rooms, VIP Lounge, Conference Room, Administrative Office, Cafeteria and kitchen, Press Media room, Doctors room, counseling room, players lounge, dining for players, Dormitory for 128 players with attached toilets, indoor games & Gym. It will cater the requirements of conducting sports and games for national and international events including Trainings for promotion of sports & games activities within the State as well as NE region. The sports complex has landscaping with gardening. 

The Stadium  has football field, 400 Mtr running track provision, 100 Mtr running track provision, pole vault area, Long jump, triple jump area, shot put area, discuss & hammer throw area, Javelin throw area, high jump area etc. except cricket match facilities. The  project was sanctioned on 28th March 2014 and the foundation stone was laid on 26th November 14 by former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki. The work was awarded to M/s Tamchi Kusuk, a first class registered contractor and an experienced firm of state on 27th April 2015.

The stipulated time of completion of the project as per the agreement was on 27/04/2018 but due to various reasons the work was actually completed on 31/12/2019. The project was designed by Sunil Saini & Sushil Aggarwal a Delhi based Consultant and the department of Urban Development and Housing Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh is the executing agency. The credit goes to present Education and Cultural Affairs Minister and then Chief Engineer Taba Tedir and a team headed by Er. Taring Darang, Chief Engineer, Er. Marcony Potom Superintending Engineer, Er. Gyamar Tachung Executive Engineer, Er. Tao Tadap, Assistant Engineer, Er. Likha Hina, Assistant Engineer, Er. Lishi Toni, JE.

It is to mention that the infrastructure also have internal road around the stadium, internal and external electricity and lighting system, street lighting, underground reservoirs of one lakh capacity, fire fighting system, lift and VIP gallery, 

The cost of construction as per original estimate was Rs. 5948.80 lakhs and the technical committee vetted the revised estimate of Rs. 7084.70 lakhs and the work has been successfully completed by the UD executive Engineer Gyamar Tachung and his team who has sincerely and dedicated his service for completion of the project.

With the inauguration of the golden jubilee outdoor stadium on February 19 the biggest function and first big event like golden jubilee celebration and 36th statehood day celebration will be remembered by the people of state and after this the stadium would be utilised for various sporting events.
