Arunachal Police arrests Tirap DDSE, Igo Doye, in alleged illegal teacher appointment scandal

The Arunachal Pradesh Special Investigation Cell (Vigilance) has apprehended Tirap District Deputy Director of School Education (DDSE), Igo Doye (51), in connection with an alleged illegal teacher appointment case. The arrest, made on Sunday, is tied to Case Identification Number 03/2023 under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

The investigation, initiated on August 17 of the previous year, stems from complaints filed by district-based student unions and community organizations, alleging irregularities in the appointment and subsequent regularization of primary teachers and other staff within the education department in Changlang district.

SIC (Vigilance) SP Anant Mittal emphasized the meticulous nature of the scrutiny, involving document analysis, interrogations, and technical examinations that led to the arrest of Doye. Mittal stated that the inquiry is ongoing, with authorities committed to a comprehensive examination of all aspects related to the alleged illegal appointments in Changlang district.
