APYC alleges corruption in selling of national flag to show patriotism toward nation

ITANAGAR, AUGUST 12 ; The Arunachal Pradesh youth congress (APYC) on Friday lambasted on the ruling BJP government led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu for selling of national tricolor flags @ Rs. 25/- of which some of them are not with quality and good condition.

Addressing the media person here at Arunachal press club (APC) the Arunachal Pradesh youth congress president Tarh Johny said that  ‘ Har ghar Tiranga’ abhiyan is a new initiative is a welcome step and appreciated and we too support it. But due to several query of the general public we have to come up and talk to the media that it has become like a business. The state government selling of national tricolour @ Rs. 25/- and accordingly 56,50,000 has to be paid by state government for supplying of national flags to the people and it is  a huge amount for the state like Arunachal Pradesh and what would be the amount for the other states of the country. It is nothing but unnecessary creating problems and seems like corruption. He said.

The quality of flags being sold to the general public is not of the high quality and it seems like blackmailing to the Indian patriotism and degrading the value of the national flag. We tried to meet the Chief Secretary today but could not meet him and we have submitted a representation not to release the huge amount for the procurement of the national flags. Johny said.

It has been observed that several people are hosting the national flag in unnecessary and no one should disrespect the national flag and host it properly and pay full respect to the flag as it is our pride and honour and urge upon the Chief secretary to issue order that if someone is found disrespecting the flag to punish the as per law. Johny said.

With regards to banning of transportation of cow in Lower Subansiri, the APYC President Tarh Johny said that it may be due to foot and mouth diocese and it is not in 2022 but it continue every years and it happened where the cow is not available and seems seasonal disease and condemn the issue of such order by Lower Subansiri district administration. Several beef eating people and even others have approached me to raise the issue.

The cow is being used in the rituals and also for worship in various parts of state and order passed on the behest of Animal husbandry and Dairy development minister Tage Taki is highly condemnable and requests the Lower Subansiri district administration to revoke the order without delay. He said.

The veterinary department and district administration have sufficed manpower and they should take care of any disease  if any caused to the cattle in various parts of state. He said.

Referring recent postponing of inauguration of Donyi Polo Greenfield airport, the APYC President said that the postponement of inauguration of the airport in October is a wise decision of the state government led by CM Pema Khandu and said till such time all the necessary required works and documentary evidences need to be completed in all respect.
