ITANAGAR, JAN 21 ; The Arunachal Pradesh catholic association (APCA) celebrated its 14th foundation day in befitting manner on January 20th and 21st with several programmes including cultural and literary activities and discussion on various issues of society.
The 14th foundation day celebrated attended by hundreds of people including the executive members of the APCA, eminent personalities like of Bishop of Itanagar, APCA President and others.
The two days celebration was held at Seva Kendra, Julang wherein all the religious congregation of Itanagar and Miao diocese were attended
The Bishop of Itanagar Rev Benny Varghese Thattel who attended the function emphasis the believers and general public to work for social welfare activities of state. At the same time everyone should ensure that whatever we are doing should be in the greater interest of public services and welfare of general masses and development of state and country.
The Bishop emphasis the life of Jesus for the cause of humanity. Everyone must work on the best advice of the Jesus Christ and work to promote the churches and its activities. The family members has to shoulder the responsibility in the service of humanity. Said Bishop.
Praising the sisters associated with the masonries, he thanks them for volunteering to dedicate their life for the service of god and people. He also lauded the Arunachalees sister nuns and priests working in the field and lauded their role and the dedication and promotion of women participation in all fields.
APCA President Taw Tebin highlighted the several social welfare activities undertaken by the organisation including health camps, medical camps, free distribution of medicines and items to the needy people, participating in social activities including cleanliness drive, conducting awareness several social evils etc.
Tebin while praising the parents, priests and nuns for allowing their childrens to accept the life of austerity and dedication to the god for service of people. He assured to continue to work for the church development and welfare of people and development of state and country.
The newly elected/appointed medical wing of APCA were felicitated on the occasion.
A prayer ceremony was held for world peace, prosperity of people and all round development.
The 72 Arunachalee catholic fathers, sister and others were felicitated by APCA at cathedral church, Nyokum Lapang, Itanagar
