ITANAGAR, Abraham Kaya Techi elected as Vice president of Indian weightlifting Federation (IWLF) for the third time in the General Body meeting of IWLF held at Noida on Sunday 3rd October.
Techi has been elected alongwith Biku Sarita as Joint secretary while Sahdev Yadav and HS Goda were elected as president and secretary general of IWLF for 2021 to 2025 respectively.
Talking to this daily over phone, Techi inform that a delegation of 8 weightlifters from Arunachal are in national camp at Patiala and Aurangabad for upcoming International competitions.
6 weightlifters are in youth category Balo Yalam-59Kg, Boni Manghya- 55 kg, Tadar Taging- 49 kg, Golon Tinku – 55 kg, Shankar Lapung – Kg, Bengia Tani – 61kg. Charu Pesi- 61 kg in junior category and Markio Tario- 67kg will play for senior category. Techi said.
The weight lifters from Arunachal Pradesh will be part of the weightlifting team of country who are being trained and practicing for Commonwealth Youth (Boys & Girls) and Junior (Men & Women Weightlifting Championships held at Singapore from 18-24 October 2021. He said.
These youths has been selected after their performance at national championship held recently at Patiala. Techi added.
