Manoj Singh || ITANAGAR, JULY 23 : The Indian air force helicopter on Saturday has joined in the search and rescue operation of the whereabout of the 19 missing workers/labourers from a construction site of a road construction agency of BRO at Huri in Damin circle of Kurung Kumey district who went missing from July 5. Informed an official.
Five person has been airlifted to state capital and admitted to TRIHMS out of which two are stated to be in critical while one who is being brought from Damin to Kolorang by road is also stated to be in critical condone. Official sources said.
Speaking to media, Deputy Commissioner Koloraing Nighee Bengia said that the IAF helicopter has joined the search operation and it began the search operation from Damin helipad by 9.30 AM and again in afternoon till 1700 hrs. The officers from SDRF, Damin CO and others accompanied the search operations. Till evening eight workers/labourers has been able to rescued and all are being given medical attention. Out of eight five have been airlifted to TRIHMS for better treatment as they need better treatment. Said DC Bengia.
The search operation could not be continued by the IAF due to inclined weather. Said DC.
In a message, the DC Koloriang in update said that out of 19 labourers 8 labourers were recovered from the forest nearby Furak river in between Huri and Furak.4 were rescued last evening on Friday at around 7 to 8 PM and 3 were rescued today Saturday early morning at around 12.30 AM. The last one at 5 or 6 PM of this evening. So total rescued labourers are 8 people. Out of 8 five serious were air evacuated to TRIHMS Naharlagun from Damin through IAF chopper for further treatment. The last one is very serious and he couldn’t speak now and is evacuating by road to district hospital Koloriang alonwith two other rescued laborers.said DC.
The remaining 11 people still missing and as per the statements of 7 rescued labourers three of them were dead-one fallen in the river, one died on the way while resting on a stone and the another also fallen in the river. We or our rescue team didn’t recovered or saw the dead bodies. This death story was told by the seven rescued labourers at Huri. He said.
Land rescue operation will be continued till all the missing persons are rescued/recovered. At present SDRF team, local police personnels and local rescue team are camping at Damin under constant supervision of SP Kurung Kumey District & DC for search & rescue operation. DC Nighee Bengia added.
However the search operation on ground still continue as the SDRF from PHQ is still in search operation and continue to search several probable location of the route where the 19 missing labourers would have traveled in these 15 days. The search teams of locals also continue to search the workers in the probable location.
It is to mention that 19 workers/labourers missing from July 5 and the missing report was reported to Koloriang Police station on July 13 when the locals failed to located them after they fled the worksite of a road construction company from Huri in Damin Circle of Kurung Kumey district. The workers went missing reportedly when their ration and other issued come up and the sub-contractor Abdul Kudgus and Roham Ali who brought them to the site left the work on pretext to attend the funeral of their grandfather few week ago.
The eight rescued workers namely Abul Ami, Majidul Ali, Monowar Hussain, Joinair Ali, Inamul Hussain, Khairul Islam, Hamidul Hussain and Ibrahim Ali. They have been first give medial attention at BRO camp at Huri and to Damin medical and our of eight five of them has been airlifted to state capital by the same airforce helicopter and immediately admitted to TRIHMS, Naharlagun and they have been security as they may not feel any insure during the treatment.
