World Environment Day observed by Brahma Kumaris

TEZU, June 05: A series of plantation activities marked the ‘World Environment Day’ here in Lohit district

The theme for ‘The World Environment Day’ this year as observed by the BRAHMA KUMARIS Tezu in collaboration with Lohit Forest Division was ‘Green India Mission’ with holistic effort from the forest dept, the spiritual organization has resolved to carry forward plantation drive in suitable places of various school campus, temple, churches, mosque etc till 25th August 2022.

Gracing the occasion as chief guest Tarun Johori (IFS) CCF appeals for community participation to make the day meaningful. “Each one should plant a sapling to avoid environmental threats. Forest dept cannot only preserve and protect the forest resources Gaonburas, NGOs, CBOs, civil societies and people from all walks of life have to come forward to save the mother earth”, he urges.    

“Today, environmental degradation has emerged as one of the biggest threats around the world. Rejuvenating our environment will protect and improve the subsistence of the people who exist with them,” says Marge Sora DC Lohit in his message. He also said that the Lohit Administration has planted saplings at District Election Office, ERO and various BLO level as per the direction of Chief Electoral Officer, Itanagar. In a simple ceremony all participants also took pledge to protect, preserve and nurture plants for better earth. 

DFO Lohit T Pertin emphasized mass plantation followed with proper nurturing of plantation till it grown up to beat global warming. BK Jayanti in – charge Brahmakumaris Tezu urges imbibing spirituality to generate love and be fair and more connected with nature. “We must shift from harming the planet to healing it through positive thought”, she advocates. Rajyogi Gitamoni  also practiced meditation to heal the environment which comprises Land, Water, Air, Fire and Sky.

Later, The DC, CCF, DFO and Girls NCC, Rangers and forest Brethren and sisters of the organization joined in plantation where Jackfruits, Mango, Jamun and other fruits bearing sapling were planted in launching the India Green Mission. Besides, DySP S Thinley, Dr SK Pradhan, Dr Jana Asst Professor IGG College, Yalum Ama CALSOM member, Gaonburas, Forest Officials, Officials Alliance Air, NCC girls and public actively participated in the event.
