Pasighat,May 14: Tumi Ado, an allege accused in an attempted murder case has been arrested after 16 days of hide and seek from nearby Aalo town of West Siang District, Police informed on Friday.
The alleged accused Tumi Ado, S/o Late Daktum Ado, Age 32 years , a native of West Siang District, who was wanted in a abduction case of Pasighat and attack on a lady Dagbom Ete. Informed West Siang SP Raja Banthia.
The accused has been arrested vide Pasighat PS FIR no 49/21 under section 307 IPC read with section 27 of Arms Act registered on 14th Earlier another case was registered against the accused in Women PS Pasighat FIR No 6/21 u/s 366/323 IPC on 29th April 2021 but the accused was absconding till date. SP Banthia added.
Meanwhile, SP Pasighat Sumit Kr Jha has informed the media that On 13th May the accused came from Aalo to Pasighat in the morning at around 10 AM and had heated arguments with respect to their old relationship. After which he assaulted the victim with Dao due to which several injuries were sustained on the hands and legs of the victim.
The victim has been admitted into the surgical ward of BPGH Pasighat and is under continuous medical supervision there. Her condition is stable.
While confirming the arrest, SP Jha said that a massive search operation was being carried out by the police of three districts which include East Siang, West Siang and Siang. The Accused was on run yesterday after the crime and was being chased by police teams. He said.
After a night long search operations and with coordinated efforts of all, the accused has also been arrested and will be sent to judicial custody after detailed interrogation
Meanwhile ,Tutem AO Welfare Society (TAWS) praised the police team for arresting the accused.
