The AEDMA team submitted an FIR related to cybercrime

ITANAGAR, June 29:  Arunachal Electronic and Digital Media Association (AEDMA) led by its President Migom Toko and General Secretary Sangge Droma met Superintendent of Police, Itanagar Capital Region Jimmy Chiram and submitted an FIR related to cybercrime.

While submitting an FIR, President Migom  Toko informed that personal  facebook page of its General Secretary Sangge Droma has been hacked on June 20 last and now the hacker is misusing the page by uploading vulgar content that has not only degraded the image of its member but also causing mental harassment.

 ‘The motive of submitting the FIR  is to request the officer to  book the culprit as per the appropriate IT Act and to refrain the hacker from making any further  damages as well as to create  awareness in the society  about rising cases of cybercrime in the state , stated President AEDMA.

He also added, ‘we are very much thankful to the SP –ICR for giving us time besides his busy schedule and his words to try their best to locate the hacker with their available resources. Moreover, we have also urged him to conduct a joint workshop in creating awareness on rising cybercrimes.

 General Secretary AEDMA- Sangge Droma also informed that his personal page was hacked by an unknown person and uploading inappropriate content. Till now my Facebook account is safe but the page I am using for personal blogs has been hacked. She also requested the people to report the page in Facebook and avoid clicking any links, or not to share any data with an unknown person to avoid being hacked.

Expressing concern over the rising cases of cybercrime, SP Jimmy Chiram has informed that his team will try its best to locate the hacker and confer its all possible support to stop such cybercrime. ‘To crack such cases is a bit difficult but not impossible, so we also should take extra care about our social media accounts to avoid such situations.

Among others, AEDMA members Shambo Flago from Gyoloo News, Techi Tat from Itanagar News and other members also accompanied the team.
