Tezu hosts 2024 state Taekwondo championship: martial arts extravaganza begins

Tezu, Jan 21: The 27th Kyorugi and 9th Poomsae State level Taekwondo championship 2024 has kicked off at the esteemed Amit Ringya Hall. Organized by LOHIT TAEKWONDO ASSOCIATION under the auspices of ARUNACHAL TAEKWONDO ASSOCIATION, this three-day event promises a thrilling showcase of athleticism and martial prowess.

The inauguration was graced by distinguished guests, including Chief Guest Mahesh Chai, Former Sports Minister, Lohit District, Guest of Honor Dasonglu Pul, MLA, Hayuliang, and Special Guest Yalum Ama, Chairman, CALSOM, Tezu Block. Their motivational speeches set the stage for a competition that extends beyond the arena, emphasizing the values of discipline and unity through Taekwondo.

A total of 427 participants from 17 districts have converged on Tezu, each vying for success in both Kyorugi and Poomsae categories. The diverse talent pool promises a captivating display of martial arts skills, showcasing the cultural richness of Taekwondo.

Likha Robin, General Secretary of the Arunachal Taekwondo Association (ATA), took the spotlight during the opening ceremony. Proudly highlighting ATA’s achievements in national and international events, he reinforced the association’s dedication to excellence in Taekwondo.

Community engagement is a key focus, as Robin warmly invites locals, stating, “It would be an honor for us if people nearby grace the event.” The championship aims not only to be a platform for athletic prowess but also a community celebration and support for aspiring Taekwondo enthusiasts.

Over the next three days, Tezu will witness riveting matches, strategic displays, and the crowning of champions in both Kyorugi and Poomsae.
