Tax, Excise and Narcotics Superintendent Kaman Tayeng passes away at Boleng

ITANAGAR, Apr 03: The Superintendent of Tax, Excise and Narcotics department, Boleng in Siang district, Kaman Tayeng died as she was trapped between her vehicle and a brick wall in front of her government quarter at Boleng at 2:30 pm today.

While confirming the incident, Siang Superintendent of Police Opir Paron informed that nobody witnessed the incident.

“According to information, Kamang Tayeng’s neighbour heard a cracking sound and rushed out from his house only to find the official’s body trapped between her official vehicle and the brick wall of the Secondary School, Boleng just in front of her government quarter,” the SP said.

Since she was driving the vehicle on her own and was planning to go down to Pasighat after obtaining permission from the Siang DC, it is presumed that the vehicle was parked in neutral gear in a hurry, the SP said, adding, the deceased seems to have closed the back door after putting her articles and the vehicle moved back as it was slopy. He also said the deceased seems to have tried to stop the vehicle from moving back by pushing it from behind but couldn’t control it and the vehicle crashed her against the brick wall causing her instant death.

According to sources, she was the only sister of IAS officer Kaling Tayeng.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Tax, Excise & Narcotics has expressed “sorrow” at the demise of the department’s official.
