ITANAGAR, APRIL 3 : The family members of Everester Tapi Mra have demanded a meeting with clear-cut clarification on search operation and other action of the state government in search of Tapi Mra and his associate Niku Dao.
Speaking to media, Yatok Mra Nilo, sister of Mountaineer Tapi Mra stated a painful statement as every members of Everester Mra is still waiting for his return and still having a great hope that the state government may act upon as assure to the family members earlier when there was a meeting during ongoing democratic movement in state capital. The family members of Tapi Mra and Niku dao have already carried out democratic movements in form of dharna, march and protest etc to press upon the state government for search operation of the overseers and his associates. She said.
Tapi Mra is the first person from Arunachal Pradesh climbed Mt Everest in 2009, and his assistant Niku Dao, have been missing since August 17 while attempting to scale Mount Khyari Satam in East Kameng district.
Though Search and Rescue operations by the district administration to trace were officially called off. It was decided to start with the search operation and this may be the best time so we want the update, though several technical experts and mountaineers were contacted but due to delay in coordination the mountaineers who were contacted may go for other assignment and the hope for operation may yield result which may be known to all. She said.
We come to meet the Minister for sports and youths affairs but could not meet as he is not available and even could not able to meet the Secretary Youths Affairs and therefore finding no option we have submitted a representation for a meeting on April 7 so that the state government may clarify us of the action taken so far as per agreement made with the family members and various organization who were on democratic movement. She said.
We have earlier met the Chief Minister Pema Khandu also and requested him to search Tapi Mra and Niku Dao for helicopter and other but invain due to bad weather. The Search operation was successful by our own team and locals and they reached Camp number-3 which was setup by Tapi Mra, but could not find Tapi Mra and Niku Dao at the camp. They returned with their belongings. And we are hopeful that until and unless we find him we cannot assume that he is dead. She said,
I assume that all these are nothing but failure of the rescue operation carried out by the district administration and state. Time has come and we want clearcut clarification by the state government. She said.
We are optimistic that the state government may take-up the genuine demand and convene a meeting on April 7 and clarify the detail of the action taken so far in search of everester and his associate or else we may move to the governor and even if there is no logical conclusion we may take our own course of action. Added the weeping sister of Everester Mra.
She also appeals to the people not to write unnecessary comments and declare him as late as we have no clear picture and information so it is my humble request and appeal to the citizens to mention as missing instead of Late in case anyone wants to write and speak for Everester Tapi Mra.
