State Level Orientation Workshop on National Children’s Science Congress -2023 Held in Arunachal

Itanagar, Aug 23: A one-day State Level Orientation Workshop on National Children’s Science Congress -2023 was successfully conducted today at the Arunachal Pradesh Science Centre, I.G. Park, Itanagar. The event saw enthusiastic participation from teachers, district coordinators, assistant district coordinators, and students from Vivekananda Central Schools, along with science center visitors from the capital complex. 

One of the highlights of the workshop was the live streaming of the historic moment of the Chandrayan-3 soft landing mission. The program was inaugurated by Bamang Mangha, Chairman of the Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology. Notable dignitaries such as C D Mungyak, Director cum Member Secretary, A.P. State Council for Science & Technology, Er Bamang Apo, Joint Director, APSCST, and other officials from APSCST graced the event.

The workshop was organized by the Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology, with support from the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, and was catalyzed by NCSTC, DST, Govt. of India, New Delhi. The theme for the National Children Science Congress (NCSC) 2023 was “Understanding Ecosystem for Health and Well-Being”.

During the technical sessions, various sub-themes of NCSC-2023 were elaborated upon by resource persons. The event was attended by a total of 62 participants, including district coordinators and teachers from 23 districts of the state. The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates and a planetarium show titled “Journey towards Moon” for the students, visitors, and participants.

The workshop aimed to encourage knowledge dissemination and promote science popularization activities, while also emphasizing the importance of technological innovation for ecosystem and health. The event’s success showcased the dedication of educators and officials in promoting science education and fostering a spirit of inquiry among the youth of Arunachal Pradesh.
