Speaker PD Sona exhorts people to preserve aged-old culture & tradition

ATO, Dec 01:  State Assembly Speaker PD Sona on Thursday exhorted the people to maintain and preserve aged-old culture and tradition.

While attending the Indigenous Faith Day celebration at Tato in Shi-Yomi district today, Speaker Sona said, “One should maintain the originality in language, attire, tradition & culture which reflects the real identity.”

“Your identity is connected with culture. You should maintain your identity by preserving your culture,” asserted Sona.

“We are lucky that unlike many other places in the world, where indigenous faith is on the verge of extinction, the people of Arunachal Pradesh have maintained it well,” the Speaker said.

Sona further said language, song, dance and traditional attire not only help in preserving one’s identity but also boost rural tourism. Sona called upon everyone to spread awareness on the significance of indigenous faith.The day-long programme was marked by colourful cultural programmes, said a press communiqué.
